这次读的是她09年初的短篇小说集《The First Person and Other Stories》。 Alice Munro says that every short story is at least two short stories. Cynthia Ozick says that a short story is more like the talismanic gift given to the protagonist of a fairy tale – something complete, powerful, whose power may not yet be understood, which can be held in the hands or tucked into the pocket and taken through the forest on the dark journey.
超市里无人要的婴儿被强行安在我身上,所有人都把它当成我的孩子,本以为故事到此是讲社会对女性当妈的期待,结果婴儿突然开口像大人一样和我对话;
四十多岁的我和十几岁时的自己在一张桌子上吃饭,彼此好奇对方的生活状态;
电影院没有出口的出口让我想到以前的date对象,半夜打电话回忆过往,与此同时我在电影院里看到的那个走到错误出口的女人,到底有没有被人发现呢,揪心;
儿子突然不去学校了,对什么都提不起兴趣,母亲找来的神婆偷了母亲的东西,男孩和他的熊躺在床上看着窗外的雪,熊是父亲以前出国给他带回来的,父亲在这里终于出现了;
同名的最后一篇the first person最甜,you are not the first person, but you are the one right now, I am the one right now, we are the one right now. I know for the first time that I maybe don’t own anything,那一刻太美了。
